From March 14 to 18, 2023, Guido Harari will bring his “Magic Cave” back to the public in Matera. This concept begins with a photographic set and becomes a place where reality and imagination merge. This initiative follows an initial experience in Ancona, during the presentation of the retrospective exhibition Remain in Light.

Between awareness and unconsciousness, the Magic Cave presents itself as a place of self-irony and play, where subjects can be portrayed in their uniqueness. Interested users can book the experience and receive their portraits taken during the experience in exchange.

The experience, which will also include a series of photographs by Guido Harari, will be held from March 14 to 18 at Palazzo Malvinni Malvezzi in Matera, as part of the ANFM Convention. The total cost is €250, including shipping costs via DHL. The subjects portrayed will receive a 30x42cm Fine Art print, signed by Harari with a dedication. Those interested can request a print of an alternative shot from the same shoot.

Each ticket includes one portrait, but couples can also participate. Each portrait takes 30 minutes, and dark clothing is recommended.

Guido Harari. Remain in Light is the first retrospective exhibition of Guido Harari’s fifty years as a photographer, taking place in the Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona from June 2 to October 9, 2022, in an evocative exhibition layout. The title, borrowed from the famous Talking Heads album, Remain in Light, is perhaps a declaration of intent, an imperative, or rather a superstitious wish. “Remain in Light” is more than the exhortation the photographer addresses to his subjects before snapping the shutter: it is above all a prayer, so that the memory of what he wanted to capture will not evaporate.

Remain in Light is a diary of encounters, a kaleidoscope, a rollercoaster of moments from a life as a professional (or sensitive) observer, a journey that reveals an incredible treasure trove of passions and feelings. It is the unfolding of many stories that Guido Harari’s gaze has captured and captured.

Over 300 photographs, installations, original films, and projections recount every phase of the eclectic career of one of Italy’s leading photographers: from his early days in the 1970s as a music photographer and journalist, to his portraits, conceived as intimate accounts of encounters with the major artists and personalities of his time—from Fabrizio De André to Bob Dylan, Vasco Rossi, Lou Reed, Kate Bush, Paolo Conte, Ennio Morricone, Renzo Piano, Wim Wenders, Giorgio Armani, Carla Fracci, Greta Thunberg, Dario Fo and Franca Rame, Rita Levi Montalcini, Zygmunt Bauman, and José Saramago—up to the emergence of a body of work that has encompassed publishing, advertising, fashion, and reportage.

Visitors will be guided through the exhibition by an audio guide narrated by Harari himself. Video interviews and the Sky Arte documentary dedicated to him will take them to the heart of his creative process. At the end of the exhibition, visitors will find a room, the “Magic Cave,” which on certain dedicated days will be set up as a photographic set. Here, upon reservation, anyone who wishes can be photographed by Harari and receive a 30×42 cm Fine Art print, signed by the artist. The portraits will also be displayed live in the same space in a sort of exhibition within the exhibition.

WALL OF SOUND GALLERY, IN COLLABORATION WITH THE PINO DANIELE TRUST ONLUS AND THE MADE IN CLOISTER FOUNDATION, PRESENTED THE MULTIMEDIA AND TRAVELING EXHIBITION PROJECT “PINO DANIELE ALIVE. THE EXHIBITION.”

We celebrate the unforgettable Neapolitan artist PINO DANIELE with “PINO DANIELE ALIVE. THE EXHIBITION,” a multimedia and traveling exhibition project that launched in Naples, at the Made in Cloister Foundation, on September 18th and will remain open until December 31, 2021.

The project was conceived in collaboration with Pino Daniele’s son, Alessandro Daniele, and photographer Guido Harari.

The exhibition features, for the first time, large-format views of Pino Daniele’s iconic photographs, taken by the photographers who followed him most closely throughout his career. Images that graced the covers of his historic albums and previously unpublished photographs, digitized specifically for the exhibition: from youthful portraits taken by Lino Vairetti of the band Osanna, to images of Mimmo Jodice, Cesare Monti, Guido Harari, Luciano Viti, Giovanni Canitano, Adolfo Franzò, Roberto Panucci, and Letizia Pepori.

The evocative setting of the Made in Cloister Foundation, thanks to its architectural features, naturally guides the public on a multimedia journey, revealing the artist’s most complex and private aspects. The exhibition also features objects and instruments dear to the artist, including some of his guitars made famous by his album covers, the mandolin used for the recordings of Napule è, and his handwritten concert setlists. An exceptional soundtrack accompanies the public on their visit: some of the artist’s songs are presented in a new way, with audio excerpts of his voice and/or guitar alone isolated from the other instruments. To punctuate the deliberately more intimate dimension of listening, Pino Daniele’s breathing intersperses the various performances. The exhibition is also a container of non-profit activities curated by the Pino Daniele Trust Onlus, which, thanks to the collaboration of SIAE – Italian Society of Authors and Publishers, enriches the program with a series of moments of artistic-musical training with meetings dedicated to music high schools, institutions and courses accredited by the MIUR AFAM

After museums and galleries having been closed for months, we are delighted to invite you to Guido’ Harari’s new exhibition “Apparizioni. Avvistamenti, incontri, miraggi”, curated by Denis Curti, which will open on May 19 in Milano, at Leica Galerie, via Mengoni 4.

The exhibition will be kind of a “greatest hits” show with several never before exhibited works as well as some absolute unseen photos. Among the portraits you will find some of Guido’s “classics” like his portrait of Giorgio Gaber, Enzo Jannacci e Dario Fo, which  for years has been dominating the main hall of Stazione Centrale in Milano, welcoming travellers departing or arriving in the city (how many of you have seen it and couldn’t resist having a selfie taken in front of it?). And also Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Leonard Cohen, Paolo Conte, Vasco Rossi, Ezio Bosso, Fabrizio De André, Ennio Morricone, Lucio Dalla, Vasco Rossi, Nick Cave, Jeff Buckley, George Harrison, Bob Marley, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Frank Zappa, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Luciano Pavarotti, B.B. King. Also featured are Pina Bausch, Greta Thunberg, Dario Fo e Franca Rame, Miuccia Prada, Alda Merini, Ettore Sottsass, Josè Saramago, Mario Giacomelli, Sebastiao Salgado, Vittorio Gassman, Rita Levi Montalcini, Margherita Hack, Madre Teresa and several more.
