As the celebration for Bob Marley’s 70th birthday draws closer, we are proud to present for the first time in Italy Bob Marley. Soul Rebel, an exhibition of David Burnett’s historic photographs of the reggae icon taken in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1976 and during the 1977 Exodus tour of Europe. Most images in this exhibition have remained unseen for over 30 years until they were exhibited for the first time in 2009 at the Govinda Gallery in Washington, DC, and published in the book Soul Rebel. An Intimate Portrait of Bob Marley. The show will open on Sunday Feb. 22 and will run till Apr. 19. We’re glad to announce that Burnett will attend the show to meet the public and sign copies of his book.

David Burnett is one of the most important photojoumalists of our time. His awards include “Magazine Photographer of the Year” from the “Pictures of the Year Competition”, the “World Press Photo of the Year” and the “Robert Capa Gold Medal” from the Overseas Press Club. He’s also been recently named one of the “100 Most Important People in Photography” by “American Photo” magazine. Co-founder of Contact Press Images, Burnett has photographed the American war in Vietnam, the military coup in Chile, the Iranian revolution and the return of ayatollah Khomeini, the fall of the Berlin Wall and every American Presidents from JFK to Obama.

We proudly present two new “Classic Editions” by Guido Harari, the series of his signature photographs co-signed with the artists themselves (you may like to check his David Crosby’s Thousand Roads album cover shot). Guido has now picked two of his best loved images: Peter Gabriel shot in full Shock The Monkey attire and make-up in 1983 in Sanremo, Italy, while he was promoting his fourth album. Peter later used these images and outtakes on tour programs, the Play Live remastered CD booklet and his So-25th Anniversary box set. During the recent Italian leg of his Back To Front tour Peter co-signed with Guido these two special editions of 25, size 16x23in, featuring the famous “gents” image as well as an impressively psychedelic and never before available close-up.

We’re delighted to announce the beginning of a new collaboration with American photographer Frank Stefanko who owes much of his reputation to his historic images of Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith. Stefanko shot the album covers of two landmark Springsteen’s albums like Darkness On The Edge Of Town and The River. He’s also published two great books, Days of Hopes and Dreams: An Intimate Portrait of Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith / American Artist. We plan a show of Frank’s photographs next year, meanwhile click here to find out more about his beautiful works.

The Kate Bush exhibition at Snap Galleries in London was a huge and unprecedented success. The show coincided with Kate’s 22 concerts at the Eventim Apollo and for five weeks fans from all over the world filled Guy White’s tiny gallery space to appreciate historic photographs by Gered Mankowitz and Guido Harari. The October issue of “Mojo” ran a 20 page Kate Bush special with one of Guido’s images on its cover. Pictured her Guido with Cristina Pelissero of Wall Of Sound Gallery, Jane and Guy White, Julia and Gered Mankowitz. Also, Guido with fans from US and UK, including Vickie and Chris Williams, Andy McMichael, Krystyna and Peter Fitzpatrick-Morris of “HomeGround” magazine, Donna Kile and Ricardo.

Merri Cyr just spent a full week in Italy between Alba, Bologna and Milano to present her new Jeff Buckley. So real exhibition and related book. The opening at our gallery was record-breaking in terms of attendance and early sales. Merri also promoted her book at the Feltrinelli bookstore in Milano with Guido Harari and Giulio Casale, lead singer with the band Estra and the first to translate Jeff Buckley’s lyrircs in Italian. A reduced version of the exhibition will be travelling every month to a different Feltrinelli bookstore in 13 Italian cities. Merri also did a few tv interviews with Carlo Massarini for RAI5’s “Ghiaccio bollente” and by Red Ronnie for his “Barone Rosso”.

Wall Of Sound Gallery celebrates the 20th anniversary of the historic Grace album with a photo exhibition of Merri Cyr‘s photographs and her new book Jeff Buckley. So real. Merri, Buckley’s close friend and personal photographer, has also selected rare and never-before-exhibited images for this show, her first in our country. She will be in Italy from Sept.12 to 18 and you can meet her here:

This will be followed by the opening of a special exhibition of 25 of Merri’s Buckley photographs. This special show will travel every month in 13 Feltrinelli bookstores around Italy.

At last! Reel Art Press has announced the first big book on Art Kane, one of the most visionary photographers of the Twentieth century. The tome will be out in October. We’re proud of having showcased Kane’s masterpieces in our show “Art Kane. Pictures of a Visionary Photographer“ in 2012. Under the supervision of Holly Anderson Kane, wife of Kane’s son Jonathan, we restored a vast selection of original transparencies, pulling fine art editions of his most iconic works and making them available to collectors for the very first time.
