Goodbye Storm Thorgerson, the Eye of Rock! “The best album designer in the world” just passed away. Best known for his lifelong collaboration with Pink Floyd, Storm conceived and designed timeless icons such as the prism for the Dark Side of the Moon album (1973), the inflatable pig over Battersea power station for Animals (1977), the 700 hospital beds on a beach for A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987), He’s also remembered for a virtually endless series of unforgettable images, also with his partner Aubrey Powell at Hipgnosis, for Led Zeppelin, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Nice, Paul McCartney, 10cc, Black Sabbath, the Cranberries and Muse.
