He was 82. Since the 50&#8217;s Cohen published a great deal of poetry books and novels. It was only in 1967 that he launched a music career at age 33. Among his most famous and most covered songs are <em><strong>Bird on the Wire<\/strong><\/em>, <strong><em>Suzann<\/em>e<\/strong>, <em><strong>Famous Blue Raincoat<\/strong><\/em>, <em><strong>Chelsea Hotel #2<\/strong><\/em>, and <em><strong>Hallelujah<\/strong><\/em>. He was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was a Companion of the Order of Canada, the nation&#8217;s highest civilian honor.
