Bob Dylan<\/a> turns 80! Another huge achievement for one of the most charismatic and elusive artists of all time, after the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016, the French Legion of Honor in 2013, the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012, the King of Sweden\u2019s Polar Music Prize in 2000, the Kennedy Center Honors Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997. Not only: Dylan has received ten Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, a special citation Pulitzer Prize. He has sold over 100 million records, has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He was included in \u201cTime\u201d magazine\u2019s “Time 100: The Most Important People of the Century”. \u201cRolling Stone\u201d considers him the #1 Greatest Songwriter of all Time, and his song \u201cLike a Rolling Stone\u201d is likewise considered by them the #1 Greatest Song of All Time.<\/p>\n

Dylan\u2019s career spans over 60 years and is filled with epochal revolutions, from the literary, intellectual and political value of his lyrics to the scope of his music, which moved on from the early folk influence of Woody Guthrie to outrageous electric rock\u2019n\u2019roll (\u201cBringin\u2019 It All Back Home\u201d, \u201cHighway 61 Revisited\u201d, \u201cBlonde On Blonde\u201d), to country music, to the Born-Again Christian albums \u201cSlow Train Coming\u201d and \u201cSaved\u201d, and again to the constant reinvention of his private and public persona, something that quite likely has quite a few surprises still in store.<\/p>\n
