From October 2 to 4<\/strong>, the Arturo Ghergo Festival<\/a><\/strong> returns to Montefano, in the province of Macerata. The event, under the artistic direction of Claudio Domini<\/strong>, with the special participation of Giancarlo Dotto<\/strong> as host and moderator of the talks and Cristina Ghergo<\/strong> as President of the Jury, reaches its 11th edition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Created to preserve and renew the memory of the great photographer who was born in Montefano, over the past ten years the Award has developed into a platform bringing together established masters, emerging photographers, scholars, publishers and the general public.<\/p>\n

With its 2026 edition, Montefano once again becomes, for a few days, a meeting place where photographic memory and contemporary research come together through exhibitions, talks, portfolio reviews, photobook publishing, education and experimentation.<\/p>\n

With this new edition, the Festival continues the work developed around the figure of Arturo Ghergo and the Museum that bears his name, transforming his legacy into a living heritage capable of generating new images, new encounters and new opportunities for knowledge and discovery.<\/p>\n

The recipient of the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award<\/strong> will be Guido Harari<\/strong>, particularly renowned for his portraits of musicians, artists and leading figures from Italian and international culture.<\/p>\n

On\u00a0Saturday, October 3<\/strong>, at 5:00 p.m.<\/strong> at Teatro La Rondinella<\/strong>, Guido will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award and give a special lecture in conversation with Giancarlo Dotto.<\/p>\n

This will be followed by the opening, at the adjoining Arturo Ghergo Museum<\/strong>, of his new exhibition, \u201cMuse\u201d<\/strong>, dedicated to a series of inspiring women from a wide range of fields \u2014 from music and culture to cinema, art, science and sport \u2014 featuring portraits, many of which have never been exhibited before.<\/p>\n

Among the women portrayed are Shirin Neshat<\/strong>, Patti Smith<\/strong>, Kate Bush<\/strong>, Joni Mitchell<\/strong>, Ute Lemper<\/strong>, Milva<\/strong>, Alice<\/strong>, Sophia Loren<\/strong>, Bebe Vio<\/strong>, Alda Merini<\/strong>, Virna Lisi<\/strong>, Margherita Hack<\/strong>, Ornella Vanoni<\/strong>, Mia Martini<\/strong>, Loredana Bert\u00e8<\/strong>, Laurie Anderson<\/strong>, Tina Turner<\/strong>, Hanna Schygulla<\/strong>, Franca Rame<\/strong>, Alessandra Ferri<\/strong>, Laura Morante<\/strong>, Monica Vitti<\/strong>, Mercedes Sosa<\/strong>, Marina Abramovic<\/strong>, Jane Goodall<\/strong>, Vandana Shiva<\/strong>, Rita Levi-Montalcini<\/strong>, Letizia Battaglia<\/strong>, Greta Thunberg<\/strong>, Miuccia Prada<\/strong>, Krizia<\/strong>, Carla Fracci<\/strong>, Ornella Muti<\/strong>, Lina Wertm\u00fcller<\/strong>, Sade<\/strong>, Noa<\/strong> and Fatoumata Diawara<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The exhibition, which will run until January 10, 2027<\/strong>, marks Guido\u2019s return to the Marche region four years after his\u00a0 successful \u201cRemain In Light\u201d<\/strong> exhibition at the Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona. It also showcases a selection of portraits from the Caverna Magica<\/a><\/strong>, captured by Guido in recent years.<\/p>\n
